PESHAWAR (APP): After successful holding of Spirit of Swat Festival, the Peace Sports Festival in Buner will be organized from next week, former national hockey player and Program Manager Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Provincial Relief and Rehabilitation Settlement Authority (PRRSA), Shakil Iqbal told APP here on Friday.He said UNDP funded PDMA-PRRSA along with reconstruction and rehabilitation work at militancy and flood hit Swat also organized 22 different sports events with the help of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Board. The events would continue for one and half-month in which youth from all across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) will take part.He said similarly an activity with the same purpose to give boost to the youth of Buner a colourful Peace Sports Festival has been planned in which a total of five different events comprising Badminton, Cricket, Football, Hockey and Volleyball will be organized.He said before taking such steps a survey was conducted to facilitate all the clubs exiting in District Buner in all the five discipline among them a competitive exposure would be given to the youngsters of the District Buner that too suffered a lot due to militancy.Shakil Iqbal disclosed that a total of nine clubs of badminton including Buner Badminton club, Buner Red, Buner Capital, Shaheen club, Elum club, Tehsil club, Nobel club, Shaheen Stars and Elai club has enlisted as registered club in District Badminton Association Buner.He said in the Cricket event a total of 14 clubs registered with District Cricket Association Buner including Khildakhel club, Young Stars, Shabaz club, Daimond club, Totalai club, Afghan club, Eleven Stars club, tiger club, Buner Green, Best Fighter club, Hamza club, Superstar club, Juar United club and Manipoor Green club which would be divided in four different groups before the matches.Most of the club hailing from Totalai with other areas including Bazargay, Ashizamera, Nawagai, Peer Baba, Bajkheta, Toorwarsak, Kulyadi, Juar and Deewanababa has also great talent. With holding of the cricket event the talent youth would certainly get a chance to come up at national and international levels.In football, he said, eight clubs vie for top honor, comprising Afghan club, Nobakl club, Ghazi club, Shaheen club, Said club, Nawagai club, Young Star club and Bajkata club. The clubs are hailing from different areas like Karapa, Johela, Ghazi Khan, Peer Baba, Sultan Was, Nawagai and Bajkat.There is a good talent of hockey and the District Hockey Association Buner is considered as the most active because of the participation of the players in different national level events.A total of 16 clubs affiliated with DHA, Buner that including Taj Hockey club, Buner Green, Elum Peer Baba, Abdali, Ne Saghar, Alfarooq, Rehman, Buner, Shaheen XI, New Stars, XI Stars, Jan club, Daimond club, Green Stars, Obaid XI and Liaqat XI.In the Volleyball event a total of 15 clubs hailing from Barkaly, Chanar, Rega, Takhta, Shal Bandi, Malka, Krapa, Toor Gut and Nawakalay will take part. The clubs comprising Toofan club, Star club, Sher Muhammad, Zarjmil club, Faisal club, Iftikhar cub, Sadaat club, Sailab club, Falkon, Eagle, Royal club, Azmat club, Azam Ali, Shan club and Shabaz club.
