Prospective Dayton homeowners will soon have a new option for mortgages with the restarting of Southern Ohio Mortgage, a partnership between Wright-Patt Credit Union and Irongate Realtors.

The Fairborn-based nonprofit financial cooperative and the Centerville-based real estate company announced Friday that the first phase of their partnership will begin July 1.

?This partnership is a great example of how local companies can join together to help not only stimulate the local economy, but to help area residents achieve their dreams,? said Doug Fecher, credit union president and CEO. ?And, when residents are successful, so are our communities.?

The partnership will operate in the six Irongate offices in Englewood, Beavercreek, Centerville, Kettering, Washington Township and Springboro.

?Being ?100 percent local? means better service because we can make quicker ? and better ? decisions,? Irongate Realtors Co-Owner Greg Gillen said.

Wright-Patt Credit Union operates 24 branches in Southwest Ohio with more than 225,000 members and $2.4 billion in assets. Irongate has been in business since 1975 and employs more than 300 Realtors in the area.

And they're off! This year's O Music Awards have officially begun with a very ambitious and action-packed 24-hour live stream.

The digitally driven event that celebrates and honors artists, fans and innovators impacting digital-music culture will aim to help rockers the Flaming Lips break the Guinness World Record for the most concerts performed in multiple cities in a 24-hour time period.

This extra-special and possible record-breaking event will unfold via a historic bus ride through the Mississippi Delta, the birthplace of rock and roll. The Lips have just boarded their tricked-out bus, aptly named Endeavor, in Memphis and will be zigzagging across the region in attempt to break Jay-Z's Guinness World Record title for Most Live Concerts In 24 Hours (Multiple Cities) by hitting a total of eight cities to end in New Orleans.

The band will travel to each new location just as the opening band is finishing its set, where they'll perform a mini-set before moving on to the next location. The Lips will be joined by "Jackass" and "Wildboyz" star Chris Pontius, Jackson Browne, Neon Trees, Karmin, MNDR and a slew of additional artists.

Fans at home can watch the entire journey from any screen and, naturally, interact, influence and play a part in the voyage as the band heads toward the final destination. The O Music Awards will be broadcast on MTV, VH1 and CMT and live-stream at OMusicAwards.com.

Hunter spent a good part of the interview trying to defend herself.

"I'm not a mistress, I'm a mom," Hunter said.

Right now, I?m in Tokyo, possibly relaxing at an?izakaya?with a glass of sake and a plate of sashimi. This is the culmination of a saving adventure that?began two years ago; the successful result involves stuffing a family of three into a 290 square foot apartment.

Any time I leave town, especially on an international trip, I make a?checklist. I?ve?written about financial checklists?before, and the concept is simple: a checklist?is a list of dumb, obvious things that you know you?re supposed to do, but in the hustle and bustle of real life, you?will?forget one or more of them. Even doctors use?checklists?with items like ?wash your hands? and ?double-check that you?re not leaving surgical tools inside the patient? to make sure they don?t forget anything. If they can do it, so can we.

Here?s the?checklist?I used before skipping the country this time around. As promised, nothing here is rocket science, but I encourage you to steal my?checklist?and make it your own.

Did I leave anything out? Since I?m actually writing this column before I go, guess I?ll find out the hard way. I?m trying to restrict this list to items with an obvious financial impact. Yes, I?ll try and remember to turn off the oven.

Pay the rent

Twice, I?ve been out of town on the first and forgotten to write the rent check early. This time, I put it on my calendar with an email reminder, but it?s going on the?checklist, too, just in case. If you have any other bills that need to be paid manually (via online bill pay, of course), put them on the list, too.

Sort out your wallet

Chances are, I?m not going to need my ?Frequent Slicer? card from my favorite Seattle pizza chain in Tokyo. Same goes for my bus pass, Safeway club card, and a couple of debit cards that don?t need to accompany me overseas. If I?m not carrying it, I can?t lose it. I?m also making sure to bring the cards that charge the lowest international fees.

Call the card issuers

If I don?t call my banks? fraud prevention departments and tell them I?ll be out of the country, my credit and debit cards won?t work when I get there.

Exchange some cash

Unfortunately, sometimes I call the banks and tell them I?ll be out of the country, and my cards?still?don?t work, if only for a day or two. So I?m bringing a couple of days? worth of yen with me. Even though there isn?t a way to buy foreign currency in the US without paying an exorbitant fee, the peace of mind is worth it.

Check the freshness date

If you?re like me, you?ve forgotten that the expiration date on your credit card is anything other than a four-digit identifier. If your card expires while you?re on a trip and the bank sends a new card to your home address, you?re hosed. Check those dates and call the bank ahead of time to figure out a solution.

Write down bank and credit card contact numbers

If I do need to call my card issuer?either because my card isn?t working or because I dropped it on the subway?I?ll need the phone number printed on the back of the card. Great, I?ll just pull out the card and?dangit!

So I made a list of those numbers?not just the 800 numbers, but also the long-distance numbers, because you?re allowed to call those collect from outside the country.?June Walbert, an experienced traveler and certified financial planner with?USAA, has a tip for making this easy: ?I make a physical copy of the front and back,? she says. ?Leave one at home and carry one with you.?

Turn it off

This one is less about financial services and more about old-fashioned conservation: I?m turning off the power at home to everything except the fridge. (Now that I think about it, I wonder if we could literally eat everything in the fridge before we go?)

Buy data

I?m planning to use Skype over wi-fi if I want to make a phone call to the US, but I definitely plan to use 3G data on my smartphone, because most streets in Tokyo are literally nameless, but Google Maps knows them all. To avoid larcenous data charges, I?m buying a block of international data usage before we go and turning off automatic email checking and other background services on my phone.

Avoid a financial car crash

?If you rent a car,? says Walbert, ?make sure you understand what?s insured and what isn?t: your credit card and your own auto policy might cover a car rental on international turf or they might not. Assume nothing.?

Keep that wound covered

You probably understand reasonably well how your medical insurance works at home, but when you travel abroad, the rules may change. Find out?before?you come down with disco fever or whatever the local ailment is.

There, that should do it. Oh, one more item: have fun and try not to worry about the stuff I left off thechecklist.?Check.

Report: Missing oil tycoon's wife had sought divorce

The wife of missing Florida oil tycoon Guma Aguiar told him she wanted a divorce just hours before he disappeared, his mother's lawyer told ABCNews.com.

Aguiar's disappearance has triggered a fight for control of his nearly $100 million dollar estate between his mother and his wife. His mother, Ellen Aguiar, said she believes her son may have been in a delusional state or suffering from psychosis, according to court records. She filed an emergency petition while rescuers were still searching for Aguiar's body last week. She amended that petition Monday, asking that a bank take control because it is a neutral third party, her attorney Ilene Lieberman said.

Aguiar's wife, Jamie Aguiar, filed counter documents Monday, seeking control of the estate, ABCNews.com reported.

"An hour before he got on his boat, the wife told Guma she wanted a divorce," attorney Richard Baron told ABCNews.com. "I'm of the belief that that's what pushed him over the deep end. He loved his wife. He did not want a divorce."

The AP reported Aguiar's wife filed a domestic violence order against him last summer. A short time later, Aguiar filed for dissolution of marriage, but both were voluntarily dismissed, according to court documents.

"I'm hoping he's alive," Baron told ABCNews.com. "I'm hoping he does get divorced. She's shown her true colors."

According to ABC, Aguiar's estate includes $65 million in bank assets, $35 million in Israeli real estate, the family's $5 million Florida home, seven cars and a yacht valued at more than $3 million.

Court documents filed by Ellen Aguiar's attorneys claim Aguiar's property is in "imminent danger" of being "wasted, misappropriated, or lost" by his wife, ABCNews.com reported, unless immediate action is taken to preserve the status quo.

Friends of Aguiar said Monday he'd been spiraling out of control for years, and seemed troubled and confused shortly before he disappeared as he sought treatment for severe bipolar disorder.

Police in South Florida are looking for clues to what happened to a millionaire who disappeared after leaving his home aboard his yacht "Alone," which was discovered the following morning with its lights on an engine running. NBC's Gabe Gutierrez reports.

New surveillance video from a South Florida port shows 35-year-old Aguiar steering his boat into rough seas less than half an hour after leaving his home. It is the last known image of the man whose boat washed ashore last week without him.

"I just stare at those pictures of him on that boat and can't help but be struck by the symbolism of him on a vessel by himself in rocky seas, fighting a world that he probably felt like was crashing down on him," said Wes Shelton, a close family friend who said Aguiar was troubled in the months before his disappearance.

Aguiar made a fortune in 2006 when the Texas-based energy company he ran with his uncle was sold for a reported $2.5 billion. But he has been locked in a contentious legal battle with his uncle, Thomas Kaplan, over money. A phone call to Kaplan's attorney was not immediately returned Monday.

Police called off their search Thursday night. There was no blood on the vessel and no evidence of foul play. Police have been reviewing the boat's GPS and Aguiar's cell phone, which was on the boat when it washed ashore with its engines still running Wednesday.

His wife Jamie has declined interview requests. They have four children who range in age from 10 months to 7 years.

Shelton said he knew of no significant emotional triggers just before Aguiar's disappearance but that he'd struggled for years with his mental health. Aguiar had been admitted to psychiatric hospitals several times.

"The lawsuits were taking a major toll on him. Emotionally. Mentally. He was completely spent," said Bob Denison, a 35-year-old yacht broker who met Aguiar in high school.

Aguiar knew nothing of the oil and gas business when the company he started with his uncle while in his mid-20s struck oil.

"That was his compulsion, that was his obsession. He spent morning, noon and night trying to build that company," said Shelton, who also worked at the company for a time.

But even after selling the company, for which he reportedly received more than $200 million, Aguiar struggled to find happiness. He took a Colorado ski trip with friends shortly after the sale. But while everyone else was relaxing, Aguiar was on his computer working.

"He used to ask me all the time, 'help me decompress, help me relax,'" Shelton said. "I didn't even know what that meant."

Aguiar donated millions to a foundation that helps Jews move to Israel. Denison said Aguiar also liked to give when no one was looking "reaching out to the guy sleeping on the bus stop, finding a friend a job on the brink of hopelessness."

Aguiar, whose mother is Jewish, was raised Christian but converted to Judaism about a decade ago. He became well-known in Israel after his $4 million investment saved the Israeli Premier League soccer team Beitar Jerusalem a few years ago.

But in Israel, he didn't know who to trust and felt he was only embraced because of his money, friends said.

"He had a lot of hurt and had a lot of regret due to what happened over there," Shelton said, but declined to elaborate.

He pleaded no contest to drug charges in 2009 after deputies said they found marijuana in his Bentley during a traffic stop in South Florida. His family checked him into a psychiatric hospital in Tel Aviv in roughly a year later after he claimed he entered the Gaza Strip and met with an Israeli soldier held there by Hamas militants.

Life seemed to be turning around this year, according to friends. Aguiar was seeking treatment for bipolar disorder and was spending more time with his family, fishing and attending soccer games. Not long before his disappearance, the family vacationed in the Florida Keys. Friends said Jamie Aguiar desperately tried to create a peaceful home life for her husband and wasn't interested in big houses or cars. They married in 2006 before he made his fortune.

"That was all Jamie wanted for him," said Shelton. "I think Jamie was really hopeful that the old Guma would come back."

Still, friends sensed that Aguiar wasn't at peace.

"He wasn't doing well. Guma was deeply burdened by the lawsuits he was fighting. I don't think I've ever heard him so confused," Denison said of his last conversation with Aguiar a few weeks ago.

Poll: Election winner won't impact economy much

WASHINGTON (AP) ? When it comes to the economy, half of Americans in a new poll say it won't matter much whether Barack Obama or Mitt Romney wins ? even though the presidential candidates have staked their chances on which would be better at fixing the economic mess.

People are especially pessimistic about the future president's influence over jobs, according to the Associated Press-GfK poll. Asked how much impact the November winner will have on unemployment, 6 in 10 gave answers ranging from slim to none.

Yet the candidates, the polls and the pundits agree ? the economy is the issue of 2012. Can either man convince voters that he would set things right?

James Gray of Snow Hill, N.C., is skeptical.

"It doesn't look to me like the economy or nothing gets better no matter who you've got up there," Gray said. "I don't know why it is."

A retired policeman, Gray plans to vote for Romney and thinks the Republican might win. But he doesn't have much hope that would improve things for people like him, living on a fixed income. "Every time you go to the grocery store the prices have gone up," he said.

Years of disappointing economic news following the 2007-2009 recession have deflated American optimism. And worries about financial troubles in Europe and congressional gridlock at home hang over the future. Two-thirds of people still describe the economy as poor. The same number ? 31 percent ? think unemployment will grow worse over the next year as predict it will ease up.

"Right now it's so bad," said Maria Fisher of Timber Pines, Fla. "I wish everything was better."

Fisher, a preschool teacher at the YMCA, favors Romney because he's a Republican and a successful businessman. She's ready "to give him the chance to fix all these problems." But she doubts there's much the president can do.

Lots of Obama supporters feel the same way.

"The office of the president as a single person doesn't have as much influence as we generally attribute to them," said Jeff Guertin, a mechanical engineer in Bedford, N.H., who backs Obama.

Guertin said a president is limited by Congress' willingness to go along with his ideas, as well as all sorts of other factors, including world events, that affect whether the U.S. economy grows or shrinks.

Despite the dominance of economic issues in the presidential race, Americans are evenly split over whether the man living in the White House in 2013 will bring significant change to the overall economy.

A majority of those surveyed ? 55 percent ? say the winner will have from "just some impact" to "no impact" on the nation's huge budget deficits.

Those with little confidence that the winner can fix things are also more pessimistic overall ? just 32 percent of them think the economy will improve in the coming year. In contrast, among those who expect a substantial impact from the winner, almost half think the economy will get better.

Republicans are more likely than Democrats to predict that the winner's imprint will be felt: 58 percent say the election's outcome will affect the economy overall. Yet fewer than half of Republicans foresee much impact on joblessness.

Everett Hickman, an Obama supporter, said both campaigns overplay how much a president can do.

"The federal government has some influence over the economy," said Hickman, a retired radio news reporter living in Charlotte, N.C. "It doesn't have the kind of push-pull, click-clack control that some people seem to think, or pretend to think."

The Associated Press-GfK Poll was conducted June 14-18 by GfK Roper Public Affairs and Corporate Communications. It involved landline and cellphone interviews with 1,007 adults nationwide. Results for the full sample have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.0 percentage points.

On October 23 , 2008 in Congressional testimony Alan Greenspan, as reported by the New York Times "a humbled Mr. Greenspan admitted that he had put too much faith in the self correcting power of free markets." This coming from someone who near ten years before, as Federal Reserve Chairmanof long standing, was one of the most forceful voices in Washington clamoring for the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Bank Act, the law which had clearly prohibited banking firms from gambling with their depositors money held directly or held in affiliated commercial banks. Yet seemingly, when all is said and done it seems, in this case, it becomes impossible to teach old dogs new tricks.

This past week (06.21.12) talking with Tom Keene on Bloomberg TV, Greenspan sprung to the aid of the Wall Street Mafia militating to emasculate the Dodd- Frank legislation by proclaiming loud and clear there is no need to return to the Glass -Steagall Bank Act and all it would imply in restricting the proprietary trading of banks. "Glass-Steagall was never a useful vehicle" Mr. Greenspan's words. The issue of proprietary trading, that is the risk prone casino gambling in such non-banking related position taking be they commodities such as oil, oil products, grains, base metals, etc., or uncovered financial instruments such as CDS' were swept into a homogenous category by Greenspan, that banks are structured to take risks. This, as though making loans to businesses, industry, municipalities, home owners, financing trade through letters of credit, were of the same construct than the rote commodity and financial instrument gambles undertaken by the likes of Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase et al.

Citigroup, for one, well understood this distinction and their responsibility to the banking community, their shareholders and the economy at large after the financial disaster of September 2008 and thereafter divested themselves of their commodity trading division, Philipp Brothers, which at the time was among the largest oil traders in the world. This in sharp contrast to JPMorgan Chase, the biggest bank proponent of prop trading and the biggest adversary of the Volker Rule core to the Dodd-Frank legislation. JP MorganChase just before and after September 2008 expended billions to acquire the trading divisions of Royal Bank of Scotland's Sempra Commodities, the trading division of Bear Stearns, and making extensive investments in the gaming tables themselves by becoming the largest shareholder of the London Metal's Exchange.

JPMorgan's ambitious venture into prop trading, as has been reported extensively, was to have their huge unhedged (gambling) position in financial instruments blow up to a trading loss initially reported as a $2 billion wipe out, but now understood to be nearing $6 billion. Perhaps manageable for JPMorgan Chase, but such an extraordinary digression from traditional banking methodology has become, by example, and with the support of the likes of an Alan Greenspan springing to the aid of the Wall Street Brigade proclaiming there is no need to return to the Glass-Steagall Bank Act and by extension its Volcker Rule, placing our entire financial system at risk.

As an aside, the recent Congressional Hearings on JPMorgan's recent trading losses, might well have been far more enlightening if questions were also posed to Dimon about JPMorgan's proprietary trading in commodities such as crude oil, copper, and the like, and exactly what does that have to do with banking?

Oh, by the way, it has just been reported that Jamie Dimon will be getting a double digit raise this year on top of his tens of millions in 2011.

Nashville Predators take 9 Players during the 2012 NFL Entry Draft

Pittsburgh, PA ? The Nashville Predators made nine selections on Day Two of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA, taking six forwards, two defensemen and a goaltender.

Sweden, the United States and Finland were once again on the Predators draft radar ? the franchise has now selected at least one Swede in seven consecutive drafts, at least two U.S.-born players in each of the last seven drafts, and a Finn in nine of the last 10.

?We took a variety of different players and different styles from scorers, to power guys, to a guy we have talked about for three years, in addition to a couple big defensemen,? Predators Assistant General Manager Paul Fenton said. ?We were trying to fill in the slots that we have more-or-less lost the last couple of years making trades with our draft picks. To be able to pick up nine players and fill the cupboard back up, we feel really good about things.?

The Predators used their first selection (37th overall) of Day Two to select, Pontus Aberg from Djurgarden of the Swedish Elite League (Elitserien). After being slowed by injuries in 2011-12, the Stockholm, Sweden native finished the season rated sixth among European skaters on Central Scouting?s final list. Aberg posted 15 points (8g-7a) in 47 games with Djurgarden this past season, earning an Elitserien Rookie of the Year Nomination. The 5-11, 189-pound forward also saw time with Djurgarden?s junior club in 2011-12, amassing six points (4g-2a) in six games. Aberg becomes the Pred in the system to hone his skills with Djurgarden ? current Predator Patric Hornqvist and prospect Patrick Cehlin both played with the club.

?He plays a two-way game, but looking at him he is probably more offensive than anything,? Predators European Scout Lucas Bergman said of Aberg. ?He has one-on-one ability, he can challenge the defense, he gets pucks off of his stick quick and all of those things are very attractive.?

The Predators stayed on the offensive side with their second pick (50th overall), selecting Colton Sissons of the Western Hockey League?s Kelowna Rockets, the same junior club that produced Predators Captain Shea Weber (selected 49th overall in the 2003 NHL Draft).

The Rockets captain and 14th-rated North American skater notched 41 points (26g-15a) for the second consecutive season in 2011-12. Sissons? 26 goals ? including a team-high 13 power-play tallies ? ranked second on the team. The dynamic, hard-working forward ? who models his game after current Predator Mike Fisher ? posted two points (1g-1a) in four WHL playoff games after being injured during the 2012 CHL Top Prospects Game.

?Colton Sissons is a hard-playing forward, who played both center and winger with Kelowna,? Predators North American amateur scout Glen Sanders said. ?He is a bit of a grinder, he can score goals and we liked the fact that he plays a lot like Mike Fisher. They made him the captain of the Kelowna Rockets at 17 years old; that was a big step and it shows the character that he plays with.?

Nashville selected U.S.-born Jimmy Vesey with its first pick of the third round (66th overall). The Reading, MA, native played in his first season with South Shore of Eastern Junior Hockey League in 2011-12. He finished the season as the EJHL?s Most Valuable Player and earned Offensive Player of the Year honors after leading the League in points (91) and goals (48). The 6-1, 194-pound winger led his team to the EJHL?s semifinals, posting eight points (5g-3a) in six playoff games. Vesey?s performance late in the season saw him move from the 164th-rated player at the mid-term to the 77th ranked player on Central Scouting?s final rankings. He is expected to return to Boston to play for Harvard University in 2012-13.

?He has great hands, a great shot and his skating has really improved,? Predators North American amateur scout Tom Nolan said. ?We see him as an offensive contributor ? a top-six forward. He is going to Harvard where he is going to get a lot of playing time. We really see him as a goal scorer and offensive producer.?

The Predators traded their 2013 third-round pick to the New York Rangers to acquire a second third-round selection, and grabbed Brendan Leipsic of the WHL?s Portland Winterhawks with the 89th overall pick. The winger was unranked on NHL Central Scouting?s mid-term rankings, but a strong 2011-12 campaign saw him move into the final rankings (114th). In his second full season with the Winterhawks, Leipsic nearly doubled his point total (28g-30a-58pts) from the season prior. The 18-year-old center ranked among the WHL?s Top 15 players in the 2012 playoffs after notching 15 points (7g-8a) in 20 postseason games as the Hawks fell to the Edmonton Oil Kings in the WHL finals. Leipsic played alongside fellow Predators prospect Cam Reid in Portland during the 2011-12 season.

?We are very excited about getting Brendan,? Sanders said. ?He is another hard-working kid. He?s not on the big side ? he?s only about 5-9 and will play at about 5-10, but he is very much like Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins. He just plays, he?s in your face and he is just one of those guys you hate to play against but you love to have on your hockey team.?

Zachary Stepan became the fifth straight forward to hear his name called by the Predators when they selected him 112th overall (fourth round). The cousin of New York Rangers forward Derek Stepan played his 2011-12 season with Shattuck St. Mary?s, posting 65 points (22g-43a) in 50 games for the Sabres. The Hastings, MN, native is expected to play with the Waterloo Blackhawks of the United States Hockey League next season before heading to Ohio State University.

?If you watch Zach play, he plays like a Predator,? Predators North American amateur scout David Westby said. ?He knows how to play the game, he?s got great hockey sense, he competes and he has a great work ethic. He really plays our style. He knows how to play the game and he competes. He takes hits to make plays, but at the same time he can pass it and he can shoot it. We were thrilled that he was available.?

After a run on forwards, Nashville looked to bolster the blue line as they selected Finnish-born defenseman Mikko Vainonen with their second pick of the fourth-round (118th) and took Swedish defenseman Simon Fernholm with their first of three sixth-round picks (164th).

Vainonen played at nearly every level in the HIFK system in 2011-12, spending most of the season as the assistant captain of the HIFK junior squad (Jr. A SM-Liiga), notching 18 points (7g-11a) as one of the youngest players on the team. The 6-3, 205-pound blueliner added an assist in 10 playoff games as HIFK Jr. went on to win the SM-Liiga Jr. Championship. As a 17-year-old, Vainonen also saw time with HIFK (SM-Liiga) and HIFK?s under-18 (SM-sarja) club in 2011-12. His performance in 2011-12 saw him finish as the 11th-ranked European skater on NHL Central Scouting?s final list.

?He is a big defensive-defenseman,? Predators European scout Janne Kekalainen said. ?He plays hard and he is able to make a good first pass to launch attacks. He keeps things simple and his game is very effective. He is a big kid who still needs to develop as an athlete to become a professional player.?

Fernholm is a big, stay-at-home defenseman who played 47 games for Huddinge of the Swedish junior league in 2011-12, posting 15 points (3g-12a). The Stockholm, Sweden native also saw time on the Swedish U-18 World Championship team in 2012, posting three points (3a) in seven games for his country. Fernholm is expected to move to Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League for the 2012-13 season.

?His hockey IQ and hockey sense are very high,? Predators European scout Lucas Bergman said. ?He is extremely poised under pressure and he has a really good first pass. He was signed by Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League. They will have him as an eighth defenseman in the Elite League next year, so that will be good for him.?

The Predators selected their sixth forward of the 2012 draft when they took Max Gortz?s with the 172nd pick. Though he was the final forward selected by Nashville, Gortz is the largest of the Predators 2012 forward class at 6-2. Gortz spent the majority of his 2011-12 season with Farjestad Jr. (Sweden Jr.), tallying 35 points (17g-18a) in 28 games. The 19-year-old forward played 18 games with Farjestad?s Elite League club (Elitserien) this past season, posting five points (2g-3a) in those contests. The Hoor, Sweden native suited up in four games for his country at the 2012 5-Nations Tournament, posting three points (3a) in those games.

?Gortz is a big-bodied winger, who has good puck protection down low,? European scout Lucas Bergman said. ?He plays a two-way game but most of all he is a big body that is hard to contain and he likes to shoot the puck. He is well orientated away from the puck. He played center growing up with more emphasis on defensive play. He moved out to the wing this season and he started to push offensively with that big body. He is very good down low and that is going to be his game.?

Nashville rounded out the day by selecting goaltender Marek Mazanec with the 179th selection. Mazanec played his 2011-12 season with HC Plzen of the Czech Elite League (Extraliga), posting a 2.96 goals-against average and .900 save percentage in 19 games with the club. The 6-4 netminder backstopped Plzen in five playoff games in 2011-12, recording a 2.15 goals-against average and .919 save percentage.

?Marek is a very talented and skilled goalie? Nashville?s European scout Martin Bakula said. ?We have been watching him for the last three years in the Czech Elite League. He has the size we like in our goalies, he is very talented and he is very skilled in every way. There is a very good chance he will be Plzen?s number one goalie next year, He is very excited about coming to Nashville ? I see it as a fresh start for him. He has been with Plzen his whole career, so this is a fresh start and he is very excited.?
